Monday 26/11/2018

  • Arrival by ferry boat early morning on the 26/11/2018 at Athens, Piraeus port.
  • Breakfast on board (included)

Full day tour to Mycenae – Nafplion – Epidaurus (Peloponnese  Region) 

7.00 Departure from Syntagma Square  (only if any guests overnight in Athens)
7.30 Departure of group by bus arriving by ferry (Piraeus Port)

Driving along the coast, we will stop at the Isthmus to see the Corinth Canal.

The Bronze Age Citadel of Mycenae (UNESCO monument) will bring alive the epic legends of Homer as we visit this World Heritage Site. The massive Cyclopean walls , the Lions Gate and the Royal Beehive Tomb  will leave a lasting impression.

After lunch (included), we will explore the charming town of Nafplion -the first capital of the Modern Greek State and continue to visit the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its acoustics (UNESCO monument).

19.00 Return to Athens for overnight

Tuesday 27/11/2018

Full day tour to Delphi and Osios Loukas monastery

8.00 Departure from Syntagma square in Athens.

Heading north we will enjoy scenic countryside on our way to the ancient centre of the world.

Delphi was a sanctuary dedicated to Apollo -god of prophecy- and was embellished by its visitors with magnificent offerings (UNESCO monument).

Visit of the archaeological site  and the museum, which contains among other finds, the famous bronze statue of the Charioteer.

Lunch in a traditional restaurant (included).

Visit the Byzantine monastery of Osios Loukas (UNESCO monument) to see the rarely preserved mid-byzantine period mosaics and enjoy great mountain views.

19.00 Return to Athens
Overnight in Athens, Amalia Athens Hotel or in Astor Hotel

The highlights of Athens

9.00 Departure for a panoramic city tour of Athens, including a visit of the National Archaeological Museum

Lunch break at leisure

In the afternoon the world-famous Acropolis (UNESCO monument) and the new Acropolis Museum are to be visited on foot.

Free time to explore the Plaka old district.

19.00 Departure from Syntagma square by bus for dinner and traditional experience at a local restaurant (included)
